Arizona Senator John McCain has spent the last few months betraying the Republican Party by constantly bashing President Donald Trump. Now, this has all come back to bite him, as a series of disturbing secrets from his past have just come to light, putting the military career that he built his political career on into question.
Freedom Daily reported that McCain came to prominence politically based off of the fact that he was supposedly a “Vietnam War hero.” That’s why it came as bad news to him when it was just revealed that he killed 134 of his fellow sailors aboard the USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier in 1967. McCain’s Navy career was a disaster from the very beginning, as he crashed two Navy jets and was involved with other nearly-fatal mishaps shortly after he graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1958. However, McCain was able to get preferential treatment because his father and grandfather were both four-star admirals.
Tragically, McCain’s cocky attitude as a young pilot aboard the USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier on July 31, 1967 caused the deaths of 134 sailors, but the future senator’s involvement was scrubbed from Navy records due to his family connections. Eyewitnesses say that McCain was trying to show off on his jet by doing a “wet start,” which is a reckless maneuver that makes fuel build up in the engine before the plane is started. The result of this move is a flame erupting from the tail of the plane, that’s accompanied by a startling amount of noise. When McCain started his engine, the electrical surge of this maneuver subsequently caused the accidental launching of a powerful Zuni rocket across the carrier’s deck, that hit two other parked planes that were packing 1,000-pound highly-explosive bombs. The fire caused a chain reaction of bombs, resulting in numerous fatalities.
McCain’s other military secret is his involvement in a massive government coverup of the Vietnam POWs that he was in captivity with. He was take prisoner in Hanoi in 1967, and was not released until 1973. What most Americans don’t know is that McCain then worked for decades to bury stunning information about American prisoners over in Vietnam who unlike him, didn’t return home. Using his position as senator, McCain worked behind the scenes to push and sponsor laws that would keep the most damning information about our POWs buried through classified documents.
The secrets that McCain hid about Vietnam POWs are horrifying. Even though two Defense Secretaries testified under oath about “the men left behind” in Vietnam, McCain continued to push the massive lie that there were no survivors, much to the horror of POW families who were frantic to know the truth about what happened to their loved ones.
These are just some of the secrets McCain has been hiding. What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
